Hand-painted island fabric from Moorea
Painted by hand in Moorea, French Polynesia, this pareo is made on soft cotton voile, a light fabric that moves easily and feels comfortable in warm weather. The floral design is applied directly to the textile, giving the colors a freer, more organic look than a standard printed beach wrap. Small variations in the brushwork, color depth and outlines are part of the piece, giving each pareo its own character.
This is the kind of detail that gives hand-painted Polynesian pareos their appeal for beach days, resort stays and summer travel. It is easy to wear, easy to pack, and still carries the feeling of something made in the islands rather than produced as a generic vacation accessory.
The same idea of an individual, handcrafted piece can also be seen in the Polynesian turtle tapa, where texture, contrast and irregular detail are part of the value. Here, that spirit is translated into a lighter textile made for movement, sun and everyday wear.
