Hand-Painted Tahitian Kōwhai Pareo

37,00

In Polynesia, yellow is no ordinary color. It is the color of the sun on the lagoon, of flowers opening in the morning, of vegetation overflowing everywhere. This hand-painted pareo starts with that same bright, generous yellow, allowing three emblematic flowers to blossom: the bird of paradise, the hibiscus, and the tiare.

The three flowers are arranged in an arc on the golden background, each with its own colors: the red and orange of the bird of paradise, the purple of the hibiscus, and the white edged with green of the tiare. A tropical bouquet, bright and luminous, typical of French Polynesia.

This Polynesian pareo is hand-painted in Moorea, directly onto the cotton fabric, without a template or reproduction.

A hand-painted Tahitian pareo

This Tahitian pareo is a true Polynesian jewelry. The arc pattern on a bright yellow background gives it a sunny, festive look. Because each hand-painted Polynesian pareo is made by hand, there may be slight variations in color or pattern from one piece to another, which is what makes it so valuable as a handcrafted item.
